I cannot say enough good things about Matt and his crew at Tree of Righteousness.From the day Matt walked into my office and introduced himself, he has gone above and beyond to take care of the needs of our property and our residents. He is always professional, respectful, reliable, and honestly just a chill, down-to-earth guy who has everyone’s best interests in mind—including the trees he is working on.Matt is extremely knowledgeable and takes pride in his work. He does not leave a job until he knows everything has been taken care of and meets his high standards. His crew is just as professional, hardworking, and respectful of the property and residents.His pricing is also some of the best I have found in the area. A Truly Exceptional Tree Service ExperienceI cannot say enough wonderful things about Matthew and Tree of Righteousness Tree Service. After getting five different estimates from other tree companies, I was devastated to hear that I would need to cut down all three of my healthy, mature, gorgeous redwood trees because of their root growth affecting utility lines and encroaching on the concrete areas around my home. Every other company I spoke with seemed to have the same answer: cut them all down — at a very high cost. No one offered me another option.Then I met Matthew, a certified arborist, and the entire experience changed.I explained to him how emotional I was about losing these beautiful, mature trees. Instead of simply giving me another quote to remove them, Matthew took the time to carefully assess the trees and discuss my options with me. He explained that only one tree actually needed to be removed, and that the other two could potentially be preserved with proper trimming, redirecting the root growth, and installing barriers to encourage the roots to grow away from the house and utilities.What impressed me most was that Matthew’s goal wasn’t to sell me the biggest job. His goal was to find the right solution for my trees and my property. He explained ways to manage and slow the growth of the trees and their root systems so that I can hopefully enjoy these magnificent old redwoods for many more years.That kind of honesty, knowledge, compassion, and professionalism is incredibly hard to find.Matthew saved me from unnecessarily losing two beautiful trees, and just as importantly, he gave me peace of mind. Matt is a certified arborist which was so helpful in planning what to do with our trees! He gave great insight to the trees in question, and we ended up keeping an oak with his expert trimming & treatment plan. He offered advice on how to keep the tree healthy moving forward, too— and, we will be using his services annually to ensure our oak stays in good shape. Thank you for your good work and expertise!

Mat and his team were very professional. Great communication. The team was quick and careful. The very large oak tree removed was between 2 houses and over 60 ft. from the street and a smaller privit near the front door. Price was very fair. These guys are amazing! Came in and got an estimate within a day of calling (which was much more affordable than the other company I asked) I have been blown away with the level of service! They came in and made quick work of a big project and left my backyard looking beautiful! I would suggest you use them for any of your tree related needs! Very knowledgeable and friendly!

Mattheau is clearly a 'tree guy'. As an arborist, he was able to point out the story of any tree, define issues, and recommend solutions with ease and clear communication. If you need someone to perform work on your property, his knowledge and experience will be invaluable assets that will save you money in the long run. The 'consult fee' is well worth the money as he will guide you to insights you may not have thought of. If only I had called him before I planted all my fruit trees!!

These guys are just terrific! Mat gave me an estimate within a couple of days after I called and sent written estimate quickly! The guys showed up early and went over my large property quickly and efficiently (like Magical Yard Ninjas!) and my yard has never looked better! I hired another company last summer who were terrible (you can't beat the name outta me!), so I do know the difference a great yard company can make! Hire these guys!as last yearThat was last year! Here is THIS year 2026: If Matt offers you "an 8 hour yard blitz," TAKE IT! Your entire Yard will get done all at once, mine did! That included weeds whacked, small branches made invisible, even a small, half-dead pine and odd logs that were no longer decorative=gone! If you saw how big my yards are, you'd cry! Tall trees trimmed, branches hauled away! Tell him if you are getting yard cleaned up to sell, you're too tired (and still too short!) to get all this done like you used to, or whatever the reason you need him, you need him! He has the experience to suggest improvements, a disciplined crew, and gets your yard looking its best! Call him!

These guys are absolutely the best. Our family’s indoor cat got outside one morning and was ran way up a tree by my neighbor’s dogs. We tried everything but after the cat was in the tree for 28 hours or so, we decided that we needed help. I called over a dozen numbers, and Tree of Righteousness was responsive and able to help when pretty much all of the other companies in Redding were unable able to. The rescue was smooth and the operator wasn’t scared or deterred at all and did an amazing job and got our beloved kitty back home. They’ll have my Tree Service loyalty here on out. I was looking to get a stum ground down and came across Rightousness Tree Service and Matthew came out and gave me a quote that I was pleased with and he noticed other trees in the community and asked if i knew if there was another company working on them and I told him not that I knew of and referred hit to the park office to talk with the park management. He had his team in the park removing trees and stumps in no time. All I can say is they are top-notch kind and do a clean job.

The first thing that impressed me of Matt V. of Tree of Righteousness was his rapid response to our emergency and followup. He came, reviewed the situation, and offered more solutions than what we had thought of, such as soil analysis which might shed light on why our trees were falling. I was impressed with his knowledge and pleased he was a Certified Arborist. His team worked arrived on time, worked straight through several hours, including removing a 200+ tree which had two tops. The wood was cut, removed, branches shredded. Additionally, the website is very good, showing us all the work TofR does, plus includes details such as Contractor License.

I was not really sure if I should hire Mr Villarreal and his crew to remove a tree from my parents house because he looked so young but I needed done right away and I was so amazed at their work! I have a long drainage ditch on my property that hasn’t been flowing properly. Matt came out in the fall and cleared all brush and debris along the ditch. These recent rains have been torrential but I have had no drainage problems at all since he did the brush removal. HIGHLY recommend!

Matt with Trees of Righteousness came out to give us a quote on a Friday evening. The job included 5 fruit trees, a stump removal and a PalmTree Removal. On Monday morning the crew arrived and made quick work of all of our trees. We were so impressed by the well versed knowledge about fruit trees and expertise in removal.We should have done this work years ago especially since it was so painless, affordable and that I have so much knowledge moving forward. We'd originally met Matthew when he came out to give us a quote for removing a large cottonwood tree. We ended up going with a different company for the tree removal, but Matthew impressed us as someone who knew a lot about tree health. We have a number of mature maple and mulberry trees on our property that we'd like to keep healthy and alive as long as we can, so we called Matthew to see if he could help us make a plan to make them healthier, and also need less frequent trimmings. He came out the next day, was a wealth of information, and was able to explain tree anatomy and treatment options in layman's terms that even my 3 and 5yo were excited to hear about. We appreciated his thoughtful approach to tree trimming (have a reason for every limb you cut), and how much time he spent explaining everything until we felt confident about the best direction to go in. Thank you Matthew for all your time and help!

Hired Tree of Righteousness to remove a tree that was beginning to fall towards a building. The tree was in a hard to access place with a building on one side and fencing all around it. Matt and his team skillfully cut the tree down without any issues or damage to the building or fences around it. And they were pretty fast about it as well. Matt and his team were professional and friendly throughout the job.

The crew from tree of righteousness are outstanding. They would have us come out and look at their work to make double sure it's what we wanted. They went the extra mile cleaned up after themselves and stacked the wood from the trees limbs. Crew was very nice and polite. I would recommend them to anyone.

I wish I had pictures to show how awesome my yard looks now! I had the Tree of Righteousness come and clean all the brush and weeds in a small area in my front yard and the whole back yard! This company is incredible! The owner Matt is wonderful. He’s very knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated to giving the best service. His crew came out and worked their butts off too! They were early, friendly, respectful and incredibly hard working. After confirming everything to make sure nothing was missed, they immediately got to work. They were like a well oiled machine! You could tell they knew what they were doing and how to be efficient about it. They even cleaned everything when they were done. With the exception of the tree gone, it looks like they were never even here! They left our home looking spotless when they were done. I would absolutely trust and hire this company again should I ever need their services and I would highly recommend them to anybody I know!

I really enjoyed my experience with Matt at Tree of Righteousness. I used their service for tree pruning and tree removal. He was over at my house same-day to provide a free estimate during the winter month. His prices seemed fair, comparatively. He provided me with education and knowledge, so I was an informed homeowner when making my decisions on how to handle the trees on my property.
